“‘I will be found by you,’ declares the LORD, ‘and will bring you back from captivity. I will gather you from all the nations and places where I have banished you.’ declares the LORD, ‘and will bring you back to the place from which I carried you into exile.'”

– Jeremiah 29:14 NIV

David expressed in Psalm 139 that no matter where he went, God was there. In the fourteenth verse of Jeremiah 29 we see God saying to His people once they seek Him with all of their heart, even when they are in captivity, they will see Me and I will bring them out and back to a better place. Careful inspection of this verse allows you to see that where God’s people were carried, or banished to, they both received the same promise to be set free! When you read 2 Chronicles 20 King Jehoshaphat prayed that whether they were facing the sword of judgment, famine or pestilence God would listen to their prayers and save them. In other words, how we ended up where we are, from God’s perspective, doesn’t matter to Him as much as He wanting us to understand He will set us free as we seek Him with all of our heart. There is no more condemnation for those who are in Christ! If sin is the reason you’re where you are, seek God with your whole heart and the promise is that He will set you free from your captivity! If God allowed you to become oppressed by circumstances beyond your control, even because of someone else who sinned, seek God with all your heart and He will set you free!

Is there a sickness that has you captive? God is saying seek me with all your heart and I’ll heal you. Debt has you captive? God is saying seek me with all your heart, I can cause my grace to abound towards you so that you will have My sufficiency for everything you need. Choices you’ve made lead you where you did not desire to be in life, God says seek me with all your heart and I will make a way in the desert and provide streams in the wasteland. Oppressed by misfortune, injustice and grief, God says you will see Me with you to help you and bless you when you seek Me with all your heart. Your dreams, hopes, aspirations have diminished and the eyes of your soul are getting dim? God says seek Me with all of your heart because I am your Light and Salvation and I satisfy your desires with good things. No good thing will I withhold from him whose walk is blameless. Heart broken from failed relationships or repetitive disappointment? God says seek Me with all your heart so you may know and rely on My love I have for you in Christ Jesus.

There is no depth God can’t raise us up from. The gates of hell may come against us, but He promised that they would not prevail! There is no sin too great that God cannot restore us from, because nothing can separate us from His love for us through Christ Jesus. There is no person too strong for us that God cannot help us overcome, because greater is He that is in us than he that is in the world! There is no circumstance too overwhleming for us, that God cannot stand in with us to bring us out of. God’s grace is sufficient for every external circumstance and great enough to sever us from every internal challenge that seeks to oppress us.

May God help you seek Him with all your heart and bless you as you look to Him and rely upon Him to empower you to step through into the new awakening and new encounter He has promised to bring you to.
