“Against all hope, Abraham in hope believed and so became the father of many nations, just as it had been said to him, ‘So shall your offspring be.’ Without weakening in his faith, he faced the fact that his body was as good as dead. Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised.”

– Romans 4:18-21 NIV

The ‘immeasurably more lifestyle’ provides us grace to sustain us while we wait with great anticipation for the fulfillment of God’s promises within us and through us to experience the fullness of life Christ came for us to have! Consistent reflection and meditation on the word of God provides us hope, comfort and encouragement that keeps us moving forward, looking ahead to what we believe despite what we see in the condition of our current circumstances. Sincere faith does not ignore the reality of the present condition of our circumstances, but looks beyond them to the possibilities of what God says in His word that will bring forth life from them.

Despite the reality of Abraham’s circumstances (he faced the fact that he was as good as dead), that would have told him to stop wasting time hoping for a miracle to experience something beyond what he knew, Abraham resolved to remain hopeful in what God promised him. Has God whispered into your ear a promise of something miraculous? Perhaps you are standing on a promise God has illuminated to you as you read and reflect on His word in your time of solitude, or you are trusting Him, through faith in Christ, for the fulfillment of the fullness of life Christ came for us to have beyond what you have known currently. Maybe time has elapsed since you heard the still small voice whisper to you what you believe He will do and the mounting waves of adversity dash against the eternal rock of hope in your heart seeking to erode your faith in God to fulfill what He promises and perform what He speaks.

Let what is spoken of Abraham in Romans 4 reverberate within your soul. Impress it upon your heart and mind as your mission to emulate the father of faith in living the victorious spiritual life God has chosen for us to live in Christ and walk as He did. By the word of God, the authority of His name, and the anointing of His Holy Spirit, through faith in Christ, let God build in you the momentum from hope to fuel your faith towards the fulfillment He has planned for you to step into the destiny He has called you to in Christ! When you find yourself slipping into doubt, towards the cascade of unbelief, recapture the inspiration that will strengthen your faith, help you regain hope’s  momentum and keep you looking ahead moving forward towards your destiny in your faith walk with Christ.

May God bless you and help you to build and sustain hope’s momentum to strengthen you in your faith walk so you may experience the fullness of life Christ came for us to have.
