“To these four young men God gave knowledge and understanding of all kinds of literature and learning. And Daniel could understand visions and dreams of all kinds.”

– Daniel 1:17 NIV

Daniel chose not to compromise his convictions, in the face of his country being overtaken, and God showed Daniel favor in the eyes of his enemies and blessed him (Daniel) with a greater capacity of aptitude and the ability to interpret dreams and visions. Sometimes, if we remain in the posture of a sincere seeker, God can make use of us, in the face of adverse circumstances, and enhance us by His Spirit for the display of His splendor. God allowed Israel to be overtaken by Babylonia, but raised up a remnant of faithful followers to oppose the dark forces that sought to advance against them.

God wants to equip, enable and empower us, by His Spirit, to help us transcend the realities of this life as He helped Daniel. In the face of captivity, Daniel resolved to remain devoted to God’s commandments and he encountered God’s favor and God gave Daniel abilities that would help him to overcome, prevail against and walk victoriously in his circumstances. When you read verse 17 of the first chapter of Daniel carefully, you will notice that Daniel’s obedience to God’s commandments did not only benefit him, but there were three others who received blessing from God. The 3 Hebrew boys, Hananiah (Shadrach), Mishael (Meshach), and Azariah (Abednego), along with Daniel, prospered from their posture of their relentless attitude to follow God’s ways no matter the cost.

“Therefore, strengthen your feeble arms and weak knees. Make level paths for your feet, so that the lame may not be disabled, but rather healed.” – Hebrews 12:13 NIV Daniel’s obedience benefitted those around him who watched him demonstrate the relentless attitude of being a sincere believer. Someone in your sphere of influence is going to be a recipient of God’s favor due to the favor God is showing you as you continue to demonstrate the posture of being a sincere believer. Open your mind to the fullness of blessings God can bestow upon you (i.e., increase in knowledge and understanding, wisdom, increased aptitude for learning, etc.), beyond material possessions and wealth, so you can experience an extraordinary encounter with God for the display of His splendor!

May God bless you and help you to demonstrate the proper posture of being a sincere believer so you may be positioned to prosper and experience the fullness of life Christ came for us to have.
